      Johannesburg is the largest city in South Africa and one of the 50 largest urban areas in the world. It is the provincial capital and largest city of Gauteng, which is the wealthiest province in South Africa. The metropolis is an alpha global city as listed by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network. Johannesburg has a well-developed higher education system of both private and public universities. Johannesburg is served by the public universities University of the Witwatersrand and the University of Johannesburg.

      Workshop and Symposium Venue

      The 2-day workshop (SEM-EBSD characterisation of nanostructured materials) and 3-day symposium will be held at Saint George Hotel and Convention Centre.
      The Mediterranean-style Convention Centre has 32 conference and break away rooms. 

      Accommodation

      Enough rooms have been reserved at the Convention Centre for all the Symposium Participants and discounted rates. The Centre offers magnificent and luxurious bedrooms, memorable cuisine, lush gardens surround statuesque buildings with elegant arches and plush marble.

      The Centre is situated 20 minutes from O.R. Tambo International Airport.
